Kabul (BNA) 16 armed militants were killed in a cleaning operation carried out by Afghan security forces in several provinces of the country.
Interior ministry press office said BNA, the operations carried out in the relevant areas of Logar, Maidan-Wardak, Kandahar, Nuristan and Kunar provinces in which 3 other militants were wounded and 4 others arrested.
Also 20 kg narcotic and a vehicle full of explosive devices were seized.
Security authorities has told earlier about the presence of multi-national Taliban in Maidan-Wardak and Logar provinces.
A security official said presently the operation is continuing by Afghan security forces in Maidan-Wardak province.
Meanwhile, police have discovered 2 planted mines from Mosaqala district of Helmand province.
The mines were planted by Taliban and with discovering these mines, they saved the lives of our innocent civilians.
