President Karzai Meets Elders Of Shindand District Of Herat

Kabul (BNA) The elders of Shindand district of Herat in a meeting with President Hamid Karzai shared their problems with him. 
At the meeting Kaka Daoud Khan, Ghulam Hazrat Raufi, Sayed Afzal Ahmad and Monawar Shah Shindand deputy at the house of people talked on others behalf. 
They supported the strategic cooperation treaty between Afghanistan and the US. They pinpointed their problems in security, health, education, roads, reservoir dams, local organ and insecurity of the elders and asked for upgrading the Shindand district to the province. 
The elders expressed their concern over dismissals by the ministry of interior of police. 
Officers of Herat especially the Shindand district and called them unjustified. They asked employment of the youth in reconstruction projects at the district especially at the airport project and provision of scholarship of Turkey and India for the 12 grade graduates. 
President Karzai told the elders that measures will be taken over employment of the youth as labor at the reconstruction projects in Shindand. 
He instructed Ghulam Jailani Popal advisor minister in good governance to closely assess the situation in Shindand district and address the problems of the people and prepare a report in this respect and present to the president. 
He also told them that sending of their youth under the scholarship will be taken at the cabinet meeting.
