Draft Law For Power, Energy Management Reviewed

Kabul (BNA) Chaired by Second-Vice President Sarwar Danesh, laws committee’s periodic session was held yesterday.
The Second-Vice President asserted the law for management of power and energy services was reviewed, was one of the newest one which codified and would be soon approved.
He added, “The law aims at management of power and energy services, industrial and economic development and prosperity of the people.” Previously there had been problems between government organs and their authorizations and as well as operations of private organizations in energy sector, Danesh said adding by approving of the law the problems would be resolved. Meanwhile, members of the committee exchanged amending views related to the draft law. At the end, the Second-Vice President and head of the committee asserted that the law’s aims have been clearly mentioned, suggesting that industrial growth, economic development and public prosperity should be determined as key goals in draft law. According to another report, Second-Vice President met with a number of active youths for academic and Quranic sections yesterday. In the meeting, Hussian Ali Karimi who got the best degree in 2014 at Poona University of India and the best parliament speaker of the country, was appreciated and granted an appreciation certificate.
In the meeting, director of a Darul Hefaz in Herat Mujtaba Khawari and a Quran memorizer Seddiqa Ahmadi were also granted appreciation certification. According to another report, Second-Vice President met with Russian ambassador to Afghanistan Alexander Mantytskiy here on Sunday. During the meeting matters relating to mutual interests including bilateral relations and enhancing regional cooperation were discussed. Stressing for bolstering relations between Afghanistan and Russia in the fields of trade, economy, security and culture, the Vice President said that the people and government of Afghanistan attaches importance to economic cooperation with regional countries and welcome foreign investment. He also called the support of Russia in the field of training of police and border forces officers positive and asked for its continuation. Assuring his country’s support in providing border security forces and scholarship to Afghan students, the ambassador noted that the Russian investors are eager to invest in Afghanistan if the security situation gets improved. Besides expressing support to holding exhibition on Bactrian civilization in Moscow, the ambassador said that stability in Afghanistan could benefit the whole region.
