Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, in a message on Tuesday to the nation asked them not to be beguiled by the rumors spread from hoarders or some jobbers who are seeking their benefit. “I have ordered the distribution of up to 24,000 tons of wheat from the government strategic stocks for the vulnerable people,” said the presidential statement quoting the president. The statement said that the government of Afghanistan has planned to process and allow up to 1,000 oil laden tracks, which are stranded due some reasons in the country’s northern ports, to enter the country’s markets without being fined. This is while thousands of foodstuff laden tracks are due to enter the country via Hairatan, Shirkhan and Torghundi ports, said the president. In the meantime, in next less than 15 days, 75,000 tons of wheat would arrive in the country from India, while the Afghan traders have bought 50,000 tons of wheat from that country, he added. “Today, I ordered the ministries of finance and foreign affairs to control the confusion that had no economic base and again provide main and primary food-items suppliers with the emergency purchase facilities in the country,” said the statement, quoting the president. The statement also said the government of Afghanistan would work in close cooperation with the People’s Republic of China, India and other countries which have high experience in controlling the emergency states to help Afghanistan not to face shortage of medicines. “I reassure you that the entire government apparatuses are working for creation of economic stability, preservation of the prices and offering enough foods,” the statement concluded as quoted the president.
