Specific Policy Approved To Curb Daesh, Hashimi

Wednesday July 1, 2015
Kabul (BNA)  Simultaneously with increasing concerns over presence of Daesh militants’ activities in Afghanistan, Presidential Palace says “To curb Daesh, a precise policy approved in National Security Council (NSC)”.
Daesh militants have started activity in Nangarhar, Farah and Helmand provinces, Sayd Zafar Hashimi, deputy to president’s spokesperson said. But, to limit the group’s presence and activity, the Afghan security forces are ready to launch special operations to neutralize the group’s ominous plots, Hashimi further said. Talking in a press conference, Hashimi said “Daesh group’s thoughts were against the Afghan people values”. To curb Daesh group’s threats in Afghanistan, the Afghan government has approved a certain policy at the National Security Council (NSC), that is why the operations conducted against the group in different parts of the country were successful, Hashimi added. The Afghan government is committed to seriously step up against any terrorist group which sheds the bloods of innocent people in the country, Hashimi went on to say.
The Afghan security forces have designed a six-month operational program of which by its implementation all armed militants will face heavy casualties and defeat in battlefields, Dowlat Waziri, defense minister deputy said. Prior to this, Salahuddin Rabbani, foreign minister said, “It was clear that terrorism was the biggest regional and international threat and had no border”. Terrorism is not a domestic phenomenon but regional, Rabbani said adding since two decades we are at the frontline of fight against terrorism. During conflicts with terrorist groups such as Taliban, Haqqani Network, Daesh etc. the Afghan security forces have sustained much live losses, Rabbani further said. Majority of the terrorist groups have regional and international goals and Afghanistan is not certainly their final destination, Rabbani added. Our brave security forces are not only defending the country’s territory integrity but help protect security and stability of both region and the world, Rabbani went on to say. Meanwhile, some experts in political and military affairs told, that the Afghan people won’t see peace unless the terrorist groups’ supporting and equipping sources beyond the Afghanistan’s borders are not removed.  Focusing on international strategy in fighting terrorism, Amir Mohammad Agah, a political expert said to uproot terrorist groups, the world countries should focus on finding their sanctuaries, supporting and equipping sources and training centers.
The Afghan government has time and again asked the international community for joint struggle against terrorism, Agah further said. But unfortunately, lack of coordination in the respect has caused terrorism to remain as a serious threat to Afghanistan, region and the world, therefore, to remove it a joint cooperation is needed, Agah added. Expressing concern over Daesh presence in Afghanistan, Mursal, a Kabul high school student said that Daesh group was the enemy of all Afghanistan’s people, therefore, I ask the government to jointly along with regional and the world countries fight against the group. This is while, about thirteen years have passed since presence of the international community in Afghanistan to fight terrorism, but unfortunately still this menace seriously threatens Afghanistan, region and the world.
