Qanooni Meets UN Secretary General Special Envoy To Afghanistan

Kabul (BNA) The first vice president Mohammad Younus Qanooni in meeting with UN Secretary General’s special envoy to Afghanistan Jan Kubis said that the role of UN and other international friends is significant in ending the election deadlock. BNA reports, Qanooni said that ending the deadlock had put positive impact on the daily life and business of people, saying he is hopeful to see soon the other impact of the deal brokered on the election. During the meeting, the UN special envoy said that the election process after ending the deadlock is moving on right track, adding the brokered agreement has led to restoration of credibility of the election process which eventually would have impact on legitimacy of the elections. The UN diplomat also hoped that the technical work is going ahead parallel to the work on political ground and would yield the desired outcome.
