Kabul (BIA) President Hamid Karzai met with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in Maldives city of Adoo yesterday.
At this meeting they discussed the strategic agreement signed between Afghanistan and India and important regional issues.
In the meeting they called existing bilateral ties as historic and important and by implementing the strategic agreement these ties will further consolidate.
Touching on the assistance of India President Karzai stated that those Afghan students who are studying in India in their return to Afghanistan will be instrumental and we want to have a good administration similar to India in Afghanistan and it should not change in formation of the government and should remain stable.
We also want to have a similar national army like India which should serve the people of the country not the political tanzims or parties.
For this reason it requires that India should cooperate with Afghanistan in training of the national army and national police.
He also asked the Indian Prime Minister to cooperate with Afghanistan in agriculture university of Afghanistan that is in the process of establishment.
The Indian Prime Minister welcomed the requests of President Karzai said that ties between India and Afghanistan has its historic roots and India believes that stability in Afghanistan impacts stability of the region and considering this reality we are prepared to assist and cooperate with Afghanistan in different spheres.
