Kabul (BNA) The ministry of agriculture, irrigation and animal husbandry reported about implementation of great programs for the growth of agriculture and marketing of agricultural products and cattle breeders in 1394 in the country. The in-charges of the ministry told media that this year they consider lay down millions of dollars at the disposal of farmers and cattle breeders and helping them in the growth of agriculture and selling of their yields. Acting minister of agriculture, irrigation and animal husbandry, Salim Khan Kunduzi inauguration of Nawruz festival and exhibition of agricultural products in Badam Bagh of Kabul told that this year, they have great programs to support the farmers.
Our important programs are include of arrangement of natural resources, establishment and rehabilitation of water reservoirs, distribution of improved seeds and chemical fertilizers, construction of gardens, the implementation of new and modern worthy continuum programs, establishment of spring and green houses, marketing for agricultural and animal husbandry products that would be implemented within current year. He hoped the last year snowfalls to be caused the growth of agriculture and increment of yields in the country. To celebrate the Nawruz festival, the in-charges of ministries of agriculture and information and culture as well as Kabul municipality inaugurated the exhibition for introduction of agricultural products. According to the ministry of agriculture, irrigation and animal husbandry, in this exhibition, 200 booths of various domestic products including handicrafts from 39 provinces are laid to exhibition. Acting minister of agriculture says that hereafter, at the end of every week, they pave the way in Thursdays and Fridays till the peasants and producers to lay at exhibition their products in Kabul. This is in a time that within previous years too, the in-charges of this ministry pledged to peasants and assured them their problems to be investigated.
But, a number of farmers and producers of agricultural products who attended in exhibition and brought their products to it are complaining about non focusing attention by government. They want from national unity government in current year, to focus its special attention towards situation of agricultural and their productions. As of three to four years to date, there are some problems and in Helmand, some diseases are affecting on their agricultural products that so far, the government didn’t helped them. They demanded that some attention should be paid in this respect. According to them, foreign productions create some problems for our domestic ones. This is in a time that Kabul governor, Abdul Jabbar Taqwa within the ceremony of Nawruz festival criticized about lack of spring houses and equipment in the provinces and asked government attention in the connection. On the other, the experts believe that if the government pays serious attention towards the growth of agriculture, the problems of farmers would remove and Afghanistan would place in a good position from agricultural growth point of view. This is the times that within recent 13 years good works have been done in the growth of agriculture but, a number of our farmers have no access to necessary agricultural equipment so far.
