President Karzai’s Congratulatory Message On The Occasion Of Eid-ul-Fitr

Saturday, August 25, 2012
Kabul (BNA) In the name of Allah, the most merciful and the most compassionate.
On this joyous occasion, I would like to congratulate the Eid ul fitr on all Muslims and the decent Afghan nation in particular and wish them happy Eid and pray that Allah the Almighty bless their Eid with the prosperity, progress and joy.
I pray to the Almighty that the Muslim world which is suffering from pain and grieving, be blessed and be saved from the distress.
Sisters and brothers!
This year too and even in the Holy month of Ramadan, the enemies of Islam and Muslims under the name of Taliban continued to oppress the Afghan nation.
The enemy ruthlessly carried out suicide bombings even in mosques in the provinces of Nimroz, Khost, Nangerhar, Kunduz, and elsewhere in the country, leaving many Muslims and their innocent children dead.
Those who have perpetrated these heinous crimes are in no doubt in hostility with the Almighty and intent only upon shedding people’s blood.
The enemy must know that they would be held accountable in the hereafter and must also know that no one will forget their crimes and oppressions. On this occasion, I once again call on the Taliban and their leaders that the oppression has been perpetrated in your name. If it is you who commit this, then we leave it to the Afghan nation to hold you to account one day.
If it is not you and it is perpetrated in your name, then you should, as Muslims and as Afghans raise your voice and admit that you didn’t commit this and that it is not you who is enemy to the Muslims and thus apologize to the Afghan nation and tell the truth.
I once again congratulate all world Muslims and the people of Afghanistan on the happy occasion of Eid ul fitr and wish them joy, prosperity, peace and security.
On this prosperous and joyous occasion, I would also like to pray for a quick and to the ongoing violence in Syria, Iraq, Palestine and other Muslims nations who are killed in bombings, shootings and bullets.
I wish them peace, freedom and prosperity. Thank you and happy Eid.
