Kabul (BNA) However, there are concerns on not approval of the budget by the lower house of the parliament, but recently, the government of Afghanistan has asked the parliament to pass the 1396 fiscal year budget. Chief Executive, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah said, ‘I hope that the Wolesi Jirga approves the budget and act responsibly in such issues.’ The CE’s remarks came out while a number of lawmakers have warned that if the dismissed ministers remain in their positions, they would reject the budget. A number of political and economic experts told that recent tensions between the government and lower house of the parliament have caused the lawmakers to talk on rejection of the next year’s budget. Haroun Mir, a political and economic expert said, ‘there is no doubt that recent tensions between the government and Wolesi Jirga have created many problems—a move that will negatively affect the government programs.’ After referring the issue to the Supreme Court, a number of lawmakers have warned that if new figures are not introduced to the ministries, they won’t approve the next year’s budget.
A number of experts believe that if it continues, the government will take the responsibility for the next year’s budget, not the National Assembly. Saifuddin Saihoun said, ‘in consider with last years’ experiences, this issue will create many tensions in the parliament and face the process with serious problems.’ After solving of the current problems between the government and house, he said the ministry of finance should consider all sides of the budget when it sends its draft to the parliament. Creation of balance in the budget will figure out all problems in the provinces and remote areas, he further said, adding the government and parliament should put aside the differences and jointly work for economic development of the country, otherwise, continuation such a situation is not in the benefit of anyone and will face the society with political and economic crisis, Saihoun went on to say. This is while that the people of Afghanistan have been always witness of political tensions among the politicians, thus, it is hoped that the government and lawmakers put aside the differences and don’t play with destiny of millions of people.
