Kabul (BNA) UN deputy special envoy to Afghanistan and member of special electoral reforms commission Tadamichi Yamamoto and head of the commission Shah Sultan Akefi called on Second Vice President Sarwar Danesh yesterday here in Kabul.
In the meeting, the second vice president while stressing on electoral reforms, election process and holding parliamentary elections in the country said fixing the exact date for holding parliamentary elections next year would help in maintaining stability in Afghanistan.
Considering electoral reforms, maintaining transparency in elections and fare and countrywide elections as main demands of the people and government in electoral reforms process, Danesh added there were no vision gaps particularly in work of the electoral reforms commission in leading panel of national unity government, hoping that work of selecting committee would soon begin. The second vice president praised UN representation for cooperation with special electoral reforms commission.
In the meeting, UNAMA deputy of political affairs assured of the international community’s cooperation with the commission in reaching fixed goals for electoral reforms.
