KABUL (BNA) The Ministry of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has launched a nationwide measles vaccination program across Afghanistan.
The program started Saturday and more than seven million children under the age of five are supposed to be vaccinated against measles.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Health has launched the polio vaccination campaign in the country.
An official at the Ministry of Public Health, Sharaf Zaman Amarkhil says that this campaign covers ten days and nearly seven million children in the center and all provinces are supposed to be vaccinated against measles and polio.
Measles has spread in the country in recent months, and since the beginning of this year, 380 children have died from the disease in the country, report says.
