Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani in meeting with officials from state-run enterprises here in Arg yesterday called for investment in producing construction materials and infrastructure sector.
During the meeting, the president stressed for supporting petro-chemical industries and producing plastic pipes in the country.
With regard to reviving minting house industry and reactivating silos the president said that reactivating silos would help government to store up to 1 million tons wheat.
Apprising the president about their problems, the delegation suggested modernization of the government-owned enterprises, circular capital, lack of payment of the salaries of the companies’ employees, ignoring state-run companies in giving share to government projects and lack of access of the state-run enterprises to raw materials.
After listening to the problems, the president promised to make essential decision with regard to the state-run enterprises within the next four months. He also vowed that no one including ministries and prosecutors would be allowed to interfere in to affairs of the state-owned companies.
President Ghani also instructed the minister for finance to appreciate those workers who had safeguarded the preserved the assets of state-owned enterprises during crucial times. According to another report, president Ghani via video conference with provincial governors and police chiefs reviewed the security situation of the country, a statement of Presidential Palace released here yesterday said.
During the video conference which was also attended by presidential advisor on national security Mohammad Hanif Atmar, acting minister for defense Mohammad Masoum Stanikzai, interior minister Noorul Haq Uloomi and few others, the president hailed the courage of security forces in foiling the malicious designs of the enemies.
Stressing for providing facilities to the children of the martyrs of the security personnel, the president appreciated 10 police personnel by awarding three-month salary in recognition of their bravery and courage demonstrated during terrorists’ attack on Heetal Plaza Hotel in Wazir Akbar Khan district last month.
