“Till The Time Nigh Searches Is Not Stopped, Strategic Treaty With US Will Not Be Signed”: President Karzai

Kabul (BNA)  The delegations appointed by decrees of the president for assessment of the civil casualties emanating from the NATO attacks in Kandahar, Paktia and Kapisa presented their evaluation report to President Karzai yesterday. 
Hajji Mohammad Zahir Safi and Senator Abdul Hanan Haqwaion the heads of the delegations while the bereave families of the martyrs were present carried their studies on the incidents. 
They said that the NATO forces without prior information and coordination with the Afghan security forces and local authorities have carried irresponsible operations in Zheree and Maiwand districts of Kandahar province, the Tagab district of Kapisa province and Gardiz city of Paktia province in which some innocent civilians including women and children at a time that there were no conflicts in the area were martyred and wounded. 
They added that the NATO commander had accepted its mistake in these operations and asked apology from the bereaved families. 
President Karzai said that for year’s irresponsible operations and home searches remain as a serious problem between Afghanistan and the NATO forces and it is one of the main factor on the path of signing of strategic cooperation treaty between Afghanistan and the US. 
He emphasized that till night operations and home searches do not stop, the strategic cooperation treaty will not be signed. 
The bereaved families of the martyrs have reiterated that the people of Afghanistan cannot tolerate continuation of such air bombardments and irresponsible night operations that are being carried out by the NATO forces and cause civilians casualties. 
They also stressed that the representatives of the people of Afghanistan at the Traditional Loya Jirgah asked for full stoppage of irresponsible operations of the NATO forces on the basis of which the government was obligated that these wants of the people be taken into account and adopt measures for stopping them.
