Kabul (BNA) The President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, visited the General Directorate of National Security yesterday morning to review the reform programs of the country’s security and defense sector, according to a presidential palace statement. First, the President in a meeting with NDS leadership and officials, which was also attended by Dr. Hamdollah Mohib, National Security Advisor, while examining the general security situation in the country, issued necessary instructions to repel and foil the enemy’s movements and vicious plans. President Ghani praised the determination of NDS leadership, officials and staffs as well as its special units that perform their duties decisively and professionally, according to the statement. The President also listened to the reform and future plans of the General Directorate of National Security and gave necessary instructions to the relevant officials to further strengthen and support it. During his visit to the General Directorate of National Security, the President thanked the implementation of the reform programs and stressed the need for joint efforts and coordination between all security and defense organs of the country.
