Kabul (BNA) Kuwait has suspended Afghanistan flights due to the coronavirus threat, a media report said on Monday.
The Kuwaiti Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) announcement raises to 32 the number of countries where commercial flights are still suspended.
The Kuwait Times quoted the DGCA as saying that flights to the 32 countries would remain suspended until further notice due to COVID-19 fears.
The updated list is: Afghanistan, Armenia, Bangladesh, Brazil, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Chile, China, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Italy, Kosovo, Lebanon, Mexico, Moldova, Montenegro, Nepal, Northern Macedonia, Panama, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Serbia, Singapore, Spain, Sri Lanka and Syria.
Meanwhile, in the past 24 hours, 248 suspicious coronavirus cases were tested in the laboratories of Afghanistan, in which, 55 cases reported positive, the Health sMinistry said in a statement.
The new cases were reported in Kabul, Herat, Nangarhar, Daikundi, Ghazni and Kunar provinces.
According to the Ministry, 149 patients have been recovered in the past 24 hours. The total number of recoveries has reached 28,360 so far. Two patients died of the virus. The total number of deaths has reached 1,389 nationwide.
