JALALABAD CITY (BNA) While military operation is ongoing in Shirzad district, eastern Nangarhar province, a prison and health center belonged to Taliban fighters have been discovered by Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) during the operation.
The military operation has started few days ago by participation of hundreds Afghan security forces in different parts of Shirzad district, Nangarhar.
Top commander of Afghan national army in the east of the country told BNA reporter, a prison and health center belonged to Taliban fighters have been discovered by Afghan security forces during the military operation last night.
It has been said, several civilians and Afghan security personnel have been released from the prison.
Taliban injured were treated in the health center, the source added.
Dozens villages have been cleared from being of anti-government militias during the military operation as well, the source further added.
Meanwhile, after beginning of the military operation and suppressing armed oppositions, hundreds families returned to their houses.
