President Ghani Calls On Pakistan President Momnoon Hussain

Kabul (BNA) Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met Friday night with his Pakistani counterpart Mamnoon Hussain at the country’s presidential palace.
In the meeting, Pakistan President Mamnoon Hussain while welcoming Afghanistan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and his accompanied delegation assured his country’s honestly cooperation with Afghanistan.
President Mamnoon Hussain considered President Ghani’s visit to Pakistan as unprecedented step towards improvement of relations between the two countries, saying that his country is ready to honestly work for concrete cooperation with Afghanistan.
Stressing on starting work on TAPI and Kunar electricity projects, Mamnoon Hussain hoped that the projects would be soon completed and both countries could get good benefits through joint work. Mamnoon Hussain expressed happiness over the discussions related to extension of business relations between the two countries, saying that vision of the Pakistan government is to have deep economic relations with neighboring countries in particular Afghanistan. In his turn, President Ghani said that national unity government of Afghanistan which is representing the majority people of the country is committed to setting up a strong confidential environment between the two countries by opening a new chapter of cooperation with its neighboring country, Pakistan. 
President Ghani said that there would be opportunities and challenges on the way to the new chapter, but opportunities are more than challenges that both countries should use better opportunities for their people. Mohammad Ashraf Ghani added that commercial obstacles existed between Afghanistan and Pakistan should be soon addressed so that both countries be connected to each other and the region.
