No Economy, Human Soul in Taliban Occupied Areas: VP Saleh

Kabul (BNA) The First Vice President Amrullah Saleh says the brutal and factional rule in a pluralistic and divers society won’t last for long, adding there is no economy in Taliban occupied districts.

“The idea of Afg has come to a halt in “Taliban occupied” districts & Talibanism has hit hard. Brutal & factional rule in a pluralistic & diverse society won’t last long.

There is no economy in Taliban occupied districts, no entertainment, no gathering & nothing for human soul,” VP Saleh tweeted.

In another tweet on Friday, VP Saleh said that Afghanistan will overcome the ongoing challenges.

“We will overcome this. We will come out stronger & wiser. We will be knowing our enemies, friends, half friends & fake ones too. We will come out like phoenix. It is absolutely impossible for a shaky Pakistani State to make us a protectorate. Countdown to moment of reversal,” he tweeted on Friday.

This comes as heavy fighting continued in the city of Sheberghan, the capital of northern Jawzjan province. At least 150 members of the public uprising forces loyal to Junbish and led by Commander Ali Sarwar have newly arrived in Sheberghan to help other forces on the ground, a senior member of Junbish-e-Milli, Sayed Shamsuddin Sadat, said.

Dostum’s son Yar Mohammad Dostum is leading the public uprising forces in their fight against the Taliban in Sheberghan.

This comes as the UN chief in Afghanistan on Friday asked the Taliban to stop attacking Afghanistan’s provincial capitals.
