Bamyan As SAARC Cultural Capital Ready To Host Guests

Kabul (BNA) Bamyan as the cultural capital of South Asian Association of Regional Cooperation (SAARC) is ready enough to host the quests, acting minister of information and culture, Sayed Musaddiq Khalili said in a meeting with the members of the commission to hold festival for Bamyan as cultural capital of SAARC.
Khalili during the visit to Bamyan and inspecting the situation for preparation of holding festival and reviewing the places to host the Afghan and foreign quests and arrange the festivities briefed those present in the meeting here. Governor of Bamyan province, Ghulam Ali Wahdat, in addition to welcoming the delegation also briefed about the preparation of provincial commission to hold festivals. Briefing the acting minister and his entourage, the director of Bamyan’s information and culture department said that the provincial commission is composed of 21 national and international entities has been implementing its programs in coordination with the central commission. However, he expressed concern over budget shortage that affects the programs. Acting minister of information and culture accompanied by Bamyan governor and deputy to the ministry for transport and aviation as well as officials form his ministry visited the places and facilities to host the guests in the festival of Bamyan as SAARC cultural capital scheduled for May 5, this year. The report of the tour to Bamyan has been presented to the office of President and in line with presidential instruction necessary steps would be taken to resolve the problems. The inaugural ceremony includes exhibitions, arts and cultural festivities and the acting minister issued necessary instructions in the respect.
