NPC Approves 20 Contracts Worth 3.6 Billion AFG

Kabul (BNA) Presided over by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, National Procurement Commission’s session was held yesterday at presidential palace. In the session, 20 contracts worth 3.6 billion AFG including the contract for reactivation and construction of 110 KW electricity transmission line from Salma dam to Karokh station were approved. Related to projects for designing and construction of Aab Kili dam of Samangan and Tangi-e-Shadyan of Balkh, national procurement commission decided that current procurement process should be cancelled. Meanwhile, NPC instructed that a mixed delegation with composition of representatives of presidential office, chief executive office, national assembly, MoF, MoE, relevant institutions and president senior advisor office on infrastructures affairs should be formed to identify domestic and foreign capable companies for implementation of the respective projects.
Besides, national procurement commission while discussing extension of wheat transit contract from Hairatan port decided that a reviewing delegation should be dispatched to the respective port and also instructed that ministry of finance should announce vacant posts for the country’s ports and appoint those meeting the requirements. The session was attended by second vice president Mohammad Sarwar Danesh, chief executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, ministers of finance, justice and economy, officials for national procurement authority and representatives of SIGAR and observers from national assembly’s national economy commission, budget and finance.
