CE Meets World Bank’s New Vice President For South Asia

Kabul (BNA) Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah met yesterday with Hartwig Schafer, World Bank’s new vice president for South Asia, at Spidar Palace.
In the meeting, the country’s chief executive praised the World Bank for its assistance and presence in Afghanistan and asked for continued cooperation with Afghanistan.
Chief executive also asked WB for investment in completion of Afghanistan big regional programs, aid for implementation of enduring development programs, empowering private sector, encouraging investment, aid to address drought, aid for food impunity as well as returnees.
The World Bank’s new vice president for South Asia assured of the bank’s continued assistance to Afghanistan and stressed on investment, encouragement and expansion of private sector.  Schafer also praised chief executive office for attention to private sector.
