British Senior Minister Calls On President Karzai

Kabul (BNA) British Senior Minister of State at Foreign Affairs and Commonwealth Office, Sayeeda Warsi called on President Hamid Karzai here other day.
The president said that Kabul was intended to hold free, fair and transparent upcoming president and provincial council polls, scheduled to be held in April, 2014.
The president termed his recent 5-day visit to London as constructive. He urged the UK to train more Afghan military officers in Sand-Hurst military academy. “In order to hold free, fair and transparent polls, we will not allow others to interfere in the elections process of Afghanistan,” the president added.
President Karzai said that the international community’s cooperation with Afghanistan would have been effective, only if the war against insurgency was fought beyond the country’s frontiers.
Sayeeda Warsi praised the progress made in the elections process and said, in order to improve relations between Kabul and Islamabad and to bring durable peace to the region the British Prime Minister David Cameron was committed to continue organizing trilateral summits between Afghanistan, Pakistan and UK.
