Obama Phones President Karzai

Kabul (BNA) US President Barack Obama Phoned President Hamid Karzai on Tuesday evening. During the telephone conversation, the US president exchanged views on the process of security transition and described the process as successful. Similarly both the leaders also discussed the April 5 presidential and provincial councils’ elections and lauded it.
President Obama praised the role of president Karzai for the vast participation of the people in the elections. Both the leaders hoped that the second round of the presidential polls would be held successfully.
Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai said during the telephone conversation that the presidential runoff will be held as like as the first round of the elections successfully, transparent and in peaceful environment.
