Officials Stress Need to Prevent Tensions Between Afghan-Iranian Borders

KABUL (BNA) In a meeting Afghan and Iranian delegations stressed the need to prevent further tensions between two neighboring countries’ borders in the future.

Officials from the Ministry of National Defense of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran met the other day to prevent the reappearance of border tensions in the future.

The Ministry of National Defense of the Islamic Emirate a newsletter Said on Sunday “A meeting chaired by Shabbir Ahmad Usmani the Chief of Staff Ministry of Defense of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan held on One of the border cities of Iran,”

Formal talks took place between sides on border issues, rendering to former agreements to resolve disputes, on the Dogharoon border in Herat and sun-border points between the two countries.

Two sides stressed the need to prevent tensions from reappearance between two Islamic countries border in the future, added further to the newsletter.

The meeting further discussed border protection, prevention of human and drug trafficking, and alternative cooperation was the main agenda of the talks between the two sides, added the Ministry of National Defense officials.
