Following Govt.’s Previous Programs A Must, Danesh

Kabul (BNA) Second Vice President, Sarwar Danesh met Canadian ambassador to Kabul yesterday, discussing variety of issues on Afghanistan, Bakhtar News Agency (BNA) reported.  According to the agency, at the outset, VP Danesh said that the government of Canada has always assisted the government and people of Afghanistan, a move that has resulted to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries.
Danesh also appreciated Canada’s assistances to Afghanistan in the fields of ensuring security, human rights, education, health, capacity building, rule of law, etc. over the last more than a decade, the report added.
However, the government of national unity has made honest efforts to restore peace in the country, but still we didn’t reach this goal, VP Danesh said.
Danesh also added that thus, following prior programs of the government is a serious need, but electoral reforms, holding elections, fighting corruption, rule of law and judicial reforms are among the top priorities of the government, the report continued.
During the meeting, stressing on bolstering friendly relations between the two countries, the Canadian ambassador assured of his country’s continued cooperation with the government of Afghanistan and said that more than half of Canada’s assistances will be spent on military section.
