Monday, September 28, 2015

Kabul (BNA) The spokesman for Interior Ministry, Seddiq Seddiqi has said that the so-called Islamic State or Daesh outfit has suffered huge casualties at the hands of Afghanistan national security forces, BNA reported. Addressing a press conference here the other day, Seddiqi said that Daesh has presence in Nangarhar and Helmand provinces. However, he asserted that some 300 militants loyal to Daesh have been killed in Afghanistan. Terming Daesh as a threat, Seddiqi called upon international community to help Afghanistan government eliminate the terrorists.
Seddiqi’s remarks came just after the UN warned in a report that Daesh outfit has been recruiting fighters in 25 out of Afghanistan’s 34 provinces. Spokesman for Interior Ministry added that cleanup operations would be launched soon in Nangarhar to wipe out Daesh and other terrorists from the province.
