Kabul (BNA) The ministries for defense and interior and National Directorate for Security (NDS) held a joint meeting yesterday, defense ministry spokesman said.
In the meeting, according to the spokesman, defense minister General Bismillah Mohammadi, interior minister general Mujtaba Patang, chief of army staff general Shir Mohammad Karimi and general Hasamudin Hasam the deputy to NDS in the meeting discussed the security situation, logistic problems and the ways to overcome the challenges.
In his speech general Patang said that the responsibility of police is increasing by each passing day, calling for more equipment, budget and training.
Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Milan the deputy for policy and strategy of Pentagon assured that US would continue to support Afghan security forces beyond 2014.
It was also agreed that Afghan air forces will be equipped to overcome the challenges.
