Tuesday, September 08, 2015
Kabul (BNA) Regional economic Cooperation Conference on Afghanistan (RECCA) is an important economic conference that was initiated for the first time in 2005 for improvement of economic-commercial relations and Afghanistan attach high impotence to it like the Silk Road.
The main goal behind RECCA is rehabilitation of Silk Road and its periodical meetings were held in Kabul, New Delhi, Islamabad, Istanbul and Dushanbe respectively. The last meeting (RECCA-VI) was organized in Kabul on Sep3/4/2015 and was hosted by the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 6th-7th AD  centuries the Silk Road was an important commercial-economic hub for Khorasan (present day Afghanistan) and other regional countries like Nepal, India, China, Mongolia, Lahor, Peshawar, Baluchistan, Arab Sea, Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Fars(Iran) and inside our country like Herat, Kandahar, Ghazni, Kabulistan, Nangarhar, Laghman. Commercial commodities were sent via Bamyan, Takhar, Badakhshan, Andjan and from Kabul to western parts of the country, south-west and vice versa to China and India. In the RECCA-VI economic, commercial issues including railway, power energy, border issues, gas, industries, agriculture and self-reliance of the regional countries and economic projects were discussed. Afghanistan can be like a connecting bridge among the regional rations. If the regional countries offer sincere support of cooperation, it would be in the benefit of all those countries and nations.
