Kabul Bank Loans Settlement Discussed In President Chaired Meeting

Kabul (BNA) Chaired by president of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, a meeting to settle and return the Kabul Bank loans was organized at the presidential palace, where the second vice president, supreme court chief, ministers of finance, commerce and economy, attorney general, governor of Da-Afghanistan Bank, head of commission for security responsibilities transition process had attend. 
The meeting discussed the issue of Kabul Bank loans and how to return them after the report from the Kabul Bank loans settlement delegation was offered at the meeting, a statement from the presidential office said. 
According to the report, up to $138m in cash and costing up to $185 million properties had been returned so far, the statement said adding over $218 million had been confessed by the debtors as well as $529 million are still remained disputed, the statement added. 
The meeting resolved the following points:
1- The delegation had been obligated to put in sell the entire returned properties of the Kabul Bank inside and outside the country, within a month and deliver the money to the government.
2- The ministry of finance had been instructed to officially and in writing indicate the transferred money from the Kabul Bank to the foreign banks and report to the government of Afghanistan after negotiation with an UK company (Crawl) which had implemented the assessment work of the Kabul Bank.
3- The organs concerned should draw cooperation from those countries to which the Kabul Bank money had been transferred and they should be convinced to return the money to the country and continually follow the work.
4- The ministry of finance had also been obligated to negotiate with the U.S. authorities to help return of Ex-Da Afghanistan Governor, Abdul Qadeer Fetrat, who was involved in the Kabul Bank crisis.
5- Finally the special tribunal set to settle part of the Kabul Bank cases, was also asked to step up in settlement of the related case and legally issue the resolution.
