President Ghani Urges Telecom Company To Work Hard For Competition

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, chairing a session of high economic council said that the Telecom Company should work for finding the capability of rivalry, a statement said Sunday.
Matters related to the issuing license for the Afghan-Set Satellite Services were discussed at the meeting, Presidential Press office said in the statement. 
Pointing to the taxpaying issues, the president also said that taxpaying was a clear standard and the companies should have a clear plan of taxpaying, the statement said.
The meeting which was attended by Chief Executive, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Second Vice-President, Mohammad Sarwar Danesh and Shahzad Arubi who spoke in details about how the last services have been made and how to make a future plan, head of ATRA, Najib Azizi provided details about national fiber tender evaluation, which is one of the main standards of eligibility for re-opening and said that five companies including AWCC, Asia Consultative Group, Roshan telecommunication company, Etesalat and Amania Company have been issued licenses to operate on the national transmission network in Afghanistan, according to the statement.
The country’s president also asked the ministry of telecommunication and information technology to provide a clear plan and implement on all companies and that other telecommunication companies should do their best to offer quality works and to observe a specific quality standard.
The president also said that the legal permit issue should be investigated under Second Vice-President’s supervision to help remove ambiguities, the statement quoted.
