Kabul (BNA) President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, in a meeting with the senate members said that Afghanistan was committed to properly use the funds from the donor nations, rather to persist in drawing cooperation from the Brussels Summit, a statement said Sunday. The president said that $450million of the total $1 billion from the Indian government would be spent in building of middle dams and pointing to the development process of the dams construction, added, “One dam was ready for inauguration and for the first time the private sector would invest some $400 million in power generation,” said the statement.
Agricultural products would be exported to India through the air cargo, with other needed items like tea would be imported to the country, according to the statement.
He warned no one could use Afghanistan in his interest, but anything would be done based on the national interest of the country, the statement quoted.
The president said the Islamic countries were important to him and said, “We want to expand relation with the Islamic nations further than ever,” the statement continued.
Afghanistan is not rather a landlocked country, as the Turkmenistan-Aqina railway would connect us to Europe within five or seven days and after discussion with the Uzbekistan, Afghanistan would be connected to Kazakhstan and most importantly the trade commodities have arrived in the country from China, through the railway recently.
President Ghani spoke about other points in the country to be connected with each other inside Afghanistan like connection of Shirkhan Port with Mazar-e-Sharif, Aqina and Herat (in the west) and Torghondi with Spinboldak as well as both Khost and Nangarhar would soon find link and the whole country’s roads to different regional transition highways, the statement added.
He pointed to the refugees’ problems and those of repatriating to the country, saying the national budge not still spent, would be used in improvement of the displaced and refugees inside the country, and vowed that after the forthcoming Brussels summit, he would establish a national consensus for providing cooperation to the Afghan returnees.
The threat to lose Afghanistan in 2015 has now been negated through the devotion and sacrifices of the country’s security forces and that Afghanistan was not gradually overcoming any challenges.
The president thanked the senate members for their support to the recently signed peace deal with the HIA and said that this has been made constitutionally, through an intern-Afghan negotiation in the country’s capital and the ensuing practicing process should be well managed, the statement observed.
He blamed the cabinet ministers for failing to spend their budgets due to lack of sufficient capacity and lack of management and pledged to bring basic change in the ministries to help improve the budget properly.
President Ghani promised the senate members that after Brussels Summit he would share their clients’ complaints with the cabinet members to seek solution to their problems, the statement added.
Meanwhile, Senate Chairman, Fazl Hadi Muslimyar expressed support to the reforms and national programs of the president and most importantly the devotion of the country’s security and defense forces.
Muslimyar also said the country’s Meshrano Jirga supports the recent peace agreement signed between the government and the Hezb-e-Islami Afghanistan and congratulated the deal as great victory to the president and sent a message to other government armed oppositions to use the available opportunity and join the process.
The Mesharno Jirga’s Chairman also thanked the government’s efforts for drawing aids from the international donors and supported the growing Afghan-Indian friendship.
