Sharan (BNA) Paktika security officials say they prevented arms smuggling into Pakistan.
A man who reportedly wanted to smuggle several US- Russian-made weapons into Pakistan in a car, was identified and arrested in Gomel district.
Paktika security source told BNA that the arrested man in the first investigation admitted that he wanted to transport the weapons to Pakistan for sale.
With the overthrow of the previous government, concerns about the fate of weapons in Afghanistan have increased.
However, Islamic Emirate officials say they will not allow Afghan weapons to be smuggled and sold to other countries.
