Validity of New Passports Extends 10 Years for People Age +15

KABUL (BNA) Passports General Directorate office says the department now issues 10-year extends passports to applicants aged 10 to 15.

According to reports; the Passports General Directorate office said in a newsletter based on the decision of the management of this department, now the office issues 10-year passports for the aged 10 to 15, these applicants will receive a 10-year passport instead of a 5-year.

According to the decision of the management of the Passport Department, applicants under the age of 10 are not included in this trend and only can have a passport for 5-years.

The decision has been made aim to reduce crowding and to make it simple for passport applicants, the passport office said.

Though, due to the crowd in number of applicants in the Passports General Directorate, the department was unable to issue passports for all Afghan citizens at a time or extend their passports.
