Achievements of President Karzai’s Tour To Iran Convincing, CM

Kabul (BNA) President Hamid Karzai chaired yesterday the plenary meeting of the Council of Ministers at the Presidential Palace.
To start with President Karzai explained the results of his visit to Iran and expressed pleasure over hospitality of the Iranian President and considered the visit very instrumental in further expansion of friendly relations and good-neighborliness with Iran.
He noted that both sides explained their viewpoints to each other in an sincere atmosphere and it was agreed that a comprehensive friendship and cooperation pact covering political, security, economic and cultural spheres for preserving long-term interests of the two countries of Iran and Afghanistan towards ensuring of peace and regional security is regulated and signed between the two nations.
The Council of Ministers (CM) called the president’s visit as satisfactory and supported it.
Mohammad Karim Khalili second vice-president informed the CM about his meeting with the Iraqi ambassador to Kabul with respect to issuance of visa for pilgrims who is willing to go to Karbela and added that the problems of over flight of planes crossing Iranian air space should be discussed with the Iranian side.
The CM assigned the ministries of foreign affairs, interior and transport and civil aviation to discuss the visa issue with the Iraqi embassy in Kabul and resolve the problems of the over flights across Iranian air with the Iranian side.
At the end of the meeting two international conventions which were presented to the CM by acting minister of foreign affairs were confirmed by the CM meeting.
