President Possibilities Not Adequate To Respond Difficulties, Khalili

Kabul (BNA) Head of coordination and humanitarian response of the UN met with Mohammad Karim Khalili second vice-president, while Wais Barmak Minister of Rehabilitation and Rural development, Mark Buden, deputy head of the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General and Coordination of the UN Humanitarian Assistance in Afghanistan were present, first John King Head of the Un coordination and response of humanitarian assistance explained the aim of his visit to Kabul that is assessment of aid to the people and attaining of basic priorities by the government in assisting people.
He expressed the hope that considering the existing difficult conditions, the process of transition of security from the NATO to the Afghan forces, has not laid any economic impacts and the UN is striving that considering the international community’s commitments at the Tokyo and Chicago, to manage necessary resources for responding to the priorities of the government and the people of Afghanistan.
Emphasizing on the aid of the international organizations to the government of Afghanistan, the commitments of the UN in delivering aid to the people of Afghanistan will be reviewed and he introduced the deputy head of the UN Special Envoy and coordinator of the UN humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan to Khalili.
The deputy head of the UN Special Envoy said at the meeting that based on his mission, he will try his best that with coordination of the government of Afghanistan seek solution for addressing the problems of the displaced Afghans.
He added that the UN mission in cooperation with the government of Afghanistan will strive to find out long-term management in addressing emergency assistance and addressing those affected by natural calamities.
Khalili thanking the UN for its assistance to the government and people of Afghanistan said that with the passage of time addressing the status of the affected people from natural calamities get improved, while still there is difficulty under the existing conditions and it is hoped that these will be resolved with the cooperation of the Afghanistan international partners.
Touching on the preparedness of the national disaster committee Khalili added that the present abilities for responding of difficulties is not adequate and it requires that this committee reach to the stage of ability to be able to better response to the problems of the affected people and this is possible under the shadow of international assistance.
He expressed the hope that with the close cooperation between Afghanistan and her international partners the process of response to the emergency incidents after 2014 will be positive as well.
He added that the UN and its affiliated organizations have been on the side of the Afghans under the hard conditions and we appreciate their efforts.
He noted that the government of Afghanistan is decisive to accomplish the transition process with success and the presidential election in 2014 is held.
