Kabul (BNA) Afghan intelligence cooperatives foiled coordinated attack plots in southern Kandahar province of Afghanistan.
The National Directorate of Security (NDS) following a statement said a group of 13 militants were arrested in connection on the attack plot.
The statement further added that the militants were looking to attack the election runoff campaign teams in Kandahar province. Intelligence operatives confiscated 3 PK machine guns, 8 AK-47 rifles, 2 pistols, 19 boxes of PK machine ammo, 4 boxes of AK-47 ammo from the detained militants, NSD said in its statement. The statement by NDS also added that the detained militants have confessed that they were looking to carry out coordinated attacks in Kandahar province.
