Kabul (BNA) Abdul Bari Jahani, Minister of Information and Culture in a meeting with officials of the government newspapers heard a range of their problems.
In the meeting, general director of the government dailies and editor in chiefs of The Kabul Times, Anis, Hewad, Islah and Watandaran newspapers enumerated their problems, saying that work in the government media in particular newspapers continued till midnights and employees were also on their duty 24 hours.
They also asserted that overtime and night-shift employees’ meal allowance had not been paid so far; therefore, the employees were facing with various economic problems.
Besides hearing problems of the government newspapers’ officials, minister of information and culture insisted on improvement of the government newspapers’ quality, praising officials and employees of the government media for their works. At the end, Jahani stressed that he would share issue of overtime and night-shift employees’ meal allowance with minister of finance and the problems would be addressed.
