Defense Minister Meets US Senate Delegation

Kabul (BNA) Defense Minister, Abdul Raheem Wardak met with the budget committee head for the US senate, Powel Ryan and his accompanying delegation here in Kabul, national defense press office reported. 
According to the defense ministry’s press office, at the meeting, the security situation, national army development, training and equipment had been discussed between the two sides as the main agendas. 
The national defense minister assured the US delegation of the developed Afghan national army and is ready to take over security of the country from the international forces in the appointed deadline, but emphasized that the national army’s different segments should be equipped with modern military facilities to address the current requirements. 
Meanwhile, the US senate delegation on behalf of his country assured not to spare any cooperation in the area of equipment and training of the national army, the statement quoted. 
The regional security and relations and effectiveness of the peace talks had also been discussed between the two sides during the meeting.
