Selection Committee Commissioners To Officially Start Work Next Week

Kabul (BNA) Finally, after much bargaining, senior members of the electoral bodies have been introduced a move that will provide the way for parliamentary and district councils’ elections.
In fact, the 1393 presidential elections has been created much tensions and challenges and it was expected to face the country with crisis. With reforming of the electoral system, a new chapter will open in the country, an action that will put an end to disbeliefs in the government commitments. The selection committee as an independent entity has presented the list of 36 people among 700 volunteers who were working in the electoral bodies to the government of national unity, so the most eligible of them to be selected. Recently, the electoral reforms special committee reported that the last member of the committee was introduced by affairs’ administration on Sunday. According to the officials, the selection committee commissioners will officially start working next week. This shows that the government first plan on electoral reforms has entered its executive phase. The presidential office have issued two decrees on seven electoral reforms proposals, as recently one of them has been executed and two of them will be presented by the end of this month (Qaws). Likewise, the electoral reforms commission reported on its effort to prevent electoral frauds at the framework of the second proposal.
So far, much have been said in this regard, but no one has brought to justice in previous elections in the country. Furthermore, the third electoral proposal with be provided on elections’ expenditures. The electoral observant organizations are stressing on reviewing of the Independent Election Commission structure by the new commissioners. This is a mission that will attract the people trust once more and the country’s political destiny belongs to it. Gula Jan Abdulbadi, an IEC commissioner said, ‘we are making effort to talk with the government of national unity leaders and new commissioners to specify the date of elections.’ There are many other important sections that must be reformed, as the exact figure of population and distribution of electronic ID cards are the options that can help restore transparency in the elections. Bringing basic reforms in the electoral system guarantees transparent and fair elections. Actually, the Afghans will face a real improvement while the electoral system is fundamentally reformed.
