FM Meet Qatar, Georgia Newly Appointed Non-Resident Ambassadors to Kabul

Kabul (BNA) Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Salahuddin Rabbani had an courtesy meeting with Qatar’s newly appointed ambassador to Kabul Mr. Saqr Bin Mubarak Al-Mansouri yesterday.
At the outset, Foreign Minister welcomed the newly appointed Non-Resident ambassador of Qatar to Kabul and while mentioning to the friendly relations between the two countries, he said, “Afghanistan is hopeful for extending relations between Kabul and Doha and is interested in the opening of the Qatar embassy in Kabul as well as finalizing and signing a Strategic Agreement between the two countries.”
While hoping for the implementation of the agreement for sending Afghan laborers to Qatar, Foreign Minister added, “Based on Qatar Foreign Minister’s Request at the sideline of RECCA 6 in specifying Qatar’s share in RECCA projects, a delegation of Foreign Ministry will visit Qatar.”
Subsequently, while appreciating the visit with the Afghan Foreign Minister, Mr. Saqr Bin Mubarak Al-Mansouri conveyed him Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdurrahman Al Thani’s good wishes and added that during his tenure he will try to enhance relations between Kabul and Doha.
In this meeting, Qatar’s Non-resident Ambassador to Kabul hoped to finalize and inaugurate the work of his country’s embassy in Kabul very soon.
According to another report, Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani met with Georgia’s newly appointed non-resident ambassador for Afghanistan Mr. Georgy Karakashli yesterday.
At the outset, while appreciating Georgia’s military cooperation with Afghanistan over the past 14 years, Foreign Minister said, “Right now there are 854 Georgian Soldiers in the framework of NATO’s Resolute Support Mission serving in Helmand, Parwan, and Balkh, and Afghanistan is thankful of these forces’ sacrifices in ensuring security and stability in Afghanistan.”
Likewise, Foreign Minister expressed his hope for Georgia’s Role in the Transit Route of Azure and technical meetings between Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey to be successful. Foreign Minister called political consultations between the foreign ministers of the two countries for enhancing bilateral relations as necessary and said that an Afghan Foreign Ministry Delegation would visit Tbilisi.
Afterwards, the Georgian Non-Resident Ambassador said that he would try his best for further enhancing relations between Kabul and Tbilisi during his tenure.
During this meeting the Georgian ambassador asked for more bilateral political consultation between the agencies of both countries in the United Nations.
It is worth mentioning that after the agreement of both countries, Afghanistan’s Non-Resident Embassy for Georgia has moved from Moscow to Baku and Georgia’s Non-Resident Embassy for Afghanistan has moved from Islamabad to Ashkhabad.
