Kabul (BNA) The Russian government has recently handed over its first military assistance consisting of 10000 Ak-47 to ANP. While the Afghan government sincerely appreciates Russian assistance and requesting further contribution for ANSF equipping and capacity building.
A number of experts and law makers on the role of regional countries in war on terror who were optimist on these assistance and future of Afghanistan and believed that Moscow is concerned on influence of terrorists and extremists into their borders said that if regional countries make honest cooperation with us in the direction of restoration of stability, we would witness it soon. Appreciating Russian military assistance for ANP, they emphasize on continued cooperation of this country for elimination of terror cells. Regional expert Ekram Andishmand says that probably Afghanistan’s insecurities would destabilize Russian allies in central Asia, and this has made Moscow to much concerned, because Afghanistan has located among central and south Asia and the Middle East.
If Russia, China and India converge to each other and agree with the west, peace will be possible in Afghanistan, because, stability is in favor of all sides. Regional superpowers including Russia should support Afghanistan to prevent increasing influence of terror groups inside their allies’ territories and offer long term cooperation in support of ANSF.
Saleh Mohammad Saleh another political expert says at present the ANSF are confronting international terrorists and the regional superpowers have to support Afghanistan including Russia. Because this is a regional war and doesn’t depends only to Afghanistan and the world should support us in this direction and take practical steps for elimination of terrorism.
A number of citizens appreciating ANSF efforts for restoration of security emphasize that still the Afghan forces are in urgent need of modern equipment particularly in air forces. Emarn a citizen says that ANSF are in need of world cooperation not only for the years ahead but for upcoming years. The Afghans are well acquainted with Russian weapons and had been previously using those weapons. So we expect Russia assistance. Talking at a ceremony held on the occasion of handing over AK-47 rifles, the Afghan NSA Mohammad Hanif Atmar, said the Afghan government leadership appreciates Russia’s assistance to ANP and considers it efficient for equipping of ANSF. He added, collective efforts of all countries would produce expected outcome for elimination of terror groups and we hope Russia would continue its assistance to ANSF. Afghanistan is facing an enemy which is a serious threat to all regional countries, because regional and global terrorists are directly not only a threat to Afghan people but for the whole region and the friendly Russia.
Accepting the ANSF challenges specially lack of modern equipment particularly in the field of air forces, Atmar added that we want the global community as well as Russian to contribute further assistance to ANSF. Emphasizing on more cooperation with the Afghan government, the Russian ambassador to Kabul Alexander Mentiteskv said we are in favor of a terrorists and opium free Afghanistan and Russia would continue its military cooperation with Afghanistan. Because in the past we had also trained the Afghan military forces and now this cooperation will continue and Russia is ready to offer every cooperation in war on terror with Afghanistan. The Russian authorities have recently committed that cooperate the afghan government in war on terror and military field, because, Afghanistan security is very important for security of central Asia.
