Clearance Operation Leaves 70 Militants Dead, Wounded

Lashkargah (BNA) At least 70 Taliban militants were killed and injured during mopping-up operation led by Afghan security forces in various parts of southern Helmand province.
Shah Mohammad Ashna spokesman of police in the province said BNA correspondent, the operation two days ago launching in different parts of Karashk district, Helmand province and most parts of the district recaptured by Afghan security forces from control of Taliban militants.
Afghan security forces are busy in cleaning the areas from existence of mines, because Taliban militants planted mines while the areas were under the control of them, source added.
The operation conducted aiming to clean completely Karashk district of the province from existence of Taliban and so far 70 insurgents were killed and injured, Ashna added.
During the operation 4 Afghan policemen were also martyred and seven others were wounded, Ashna further added.
Afghan security forces will continue the operation until the district fully clean from presence of the rebels, Ashna concluded.
