Kabul (BNA) The US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has recently said that if Pakistan doesn’t act its commitments to the world community for elimination of terror cells and group.
She would be facing with US and world sanctions. Tillerson has added that Pakistan has been changed to a secure hideout of terrorist groups who are considered as a potential threat to the world peace. Of course, there is neither new thing in Tillerson’s expressions on Pakistan nor it’s the first time since taking over of the white house by President Trump that the US makes such comments on Pakistan. Since earlier days the White House new administration appeared with relatively critical and warning spirit and this spirit is further affected by Trump opinions during election campaign. The new White House team has often criticized Pakistan attitude towards terror groups and different occasions and has even conditioned her generous assistance to sincerity of Pakistan. But from that side, Pakistan has continued support of terrorists without slight fear or concern.
The authorities of Afghan administration have no longer had optimistic glance to Pakistan in the wake of recent visit of Pakistan Chief of Army Staff to Kabul as they had already and even say that following the visit of Gen. Bajwa to Kabul, no change has appeared in the situation. All these reactions could mean that Pakistan has taken no step for elimination of terrorists secure sanctuaries neither to the request of the Afghan authorities nor to US authorities.
It means that Pakistan already knows that the US warnings would not be supported by practical steps and due to this reason, merely nods against US warnings and threats without to be intended to withdraw these terror gangs from its territory.
Unfortunately the Americans use insufficient instrument, against Pakistan that in the outset open their first against their Pakistani counterparts. For instance, whenever the US secretary of state’s warns Islamabad on support consequences of terror groups, says that one day, these groups would threaten security of Pakistan. But the Pakistanis have no such calculation of the situation that one day these terrorists groups stationed would be change to a threat for interest of Pakistan. In the last four decades since emerge of these groups Pakistan has sufficiently gotten familiarity with these terrorists when she feel that they would attack her, how could eliminate them. On the other hand, when at present terrorist groups ensure interests of Pakistan, we don’t know precisely how the situation would change in unknown tomorrow?
Whether, whenever the American with help off Pakistanis had been creating these groups, did they know that what would be the consequences? Did they think that Bin-e-Laden who was brought up with the US multi-million dollars, would attack interests of his benefactors? Pakistan is in such a situation and at the moment nothing is important to her beyond its today’s interest, as four decades ago the most important priority for the US was this to form these groups and organizations who could fight the soviet troops in Afghanistan.
Either the Americans had committed strategic mistake or they knew but deliberately let Pakistan to be interrupter of Afghanistan security, development and stability.
It seems impossible and unlikely that the two ex-US presidents, Bush and Obama didn’t know anything on current terror groups in certain regions in Pakistan territory. If it had been so, then on what basis the current information of the White House have been established? Because the US secret services and intelligence bodies investigate and research an issue for many years and then share findings to US politicians. No doubt Bush and Obama were aware of situation like Trump, but due to unknown political and security reasons they had not wanted to accuse Pakistan directly to support of terror.
Now, that Tillerson or other US authorities warn Pakistan, it would certainly remain on paper and this is the reason why Pakistan has not taken any important practical step for elimination of secure terror hideouts.
Many regional experts even believe that current ruling White House rulers would no longer take any extra step in this direction. Therefore until secure terror sanctuaries exist we should not expect any positive change in security situation of Afghanistan.
Particularly now that the fugitive IS groups are being deployed in certain areas of Afghanistan it is fears that due to proper geopolitical position of Afghanistan for their activities and operations, they would plan to start another more devastating and bigger war further dangerous than before in Afghanistan.
Some experts of international relations have warned that ISIS is being influencing in parts of Afghanistan intend to inflame ethnic and religious conflicts.
