President Ghani Meets Iranian Vice President

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met Shariatmadari the vice president of the Islamic Republic of Iran here yesterday and exchanged views on matters relating mutual interests.
“We are the witness of development in our brotherly country and we are sure that Afghanistan is moving towards stability,” the vice president said in the meeting held at the Presidential Palace. The Iranian vice president also added that Iran’s interior ministry has been assigned for the Joint Cooperation Commission to prepare the roadmap for further enhancing cooperation between Afghanistan and Iran. Of the Afghanistan side to the commission, President Ghani said that a cabinet minister would be introduced soon to work for the preparation of the roadmap of cooperation between the two countries in different fields including the war on terror and drug trafficking as well as trade, economy and Afghan refugees’ problems living in Iran.
On economic refuges of Afghans to Iran, President Ghani said Afghanistan would initiate constructive talks. He also added that Afghanistan as an active member of the international community wants friendly relations with all countries and in no way its relations with one country poses threat to others, especially to the neighboring states.
President Ghani also said he would soon visit Iran at the invitation of his Iranian counterpart Dr. Hassan Rohani.
