Turkish National Arrested In Afghanistan On Suspicion of Terrorism

Kabul (BNA) A Turkish national was arrested by Afghan security forces on suspicion of criminal and terrorist activities.
Head of the Interpol police department in the Ministry of Interior, Sayed Afandi, said the Turkish national was arrested after he illegally entered Afghanistan from Pakistan. Afandi further added that the Turkish national, Yukar Dugan, was recently released from the jail in Pakistan. He said Dugan was arrested by Pakistani security forces on suspicion of terrorism related activities, after he entered Pakistan from Iran where he was trained in a Pakistani Madrasa for a period of three years. Dugan has been accused of criminal activities including forgery, illegal trade of arms and weapons, having links with the militant groups. Afandi said the suspect was handed over to Turkish Interpol authorities on 1st August. According to Afandi, the suspect was not involved in any terror related or criminal activities in Afghanistan and was transferred to Turkish authorities based on their request.
