New Zealand Ambassador Presents Diplomatic Credentials

Kabul (BNA) President Hamid Karzai received at a formal ceremony the diplomatic credentials of Justin Peter Fepuleai, the new ambassador of the New Zealand to Afghanistan.

The ceremony, attended by Afghan deputy Foreign Minister Jawed Ludin and the Ministry’s Chief of Protocol Hamid Sediq, was followed by a bilateral meeting where issues of mutual interest including New Zealand’s assistance to Afghanistan were discussed.

The President thanked Ambassador Fepuleai for his country’s help to Afghanistan and said “From far away, you have come to help us and our country which is a great humanitarian contribution itself.”

The new Ambassador said he was happy to have been posted to Afghanistan and informed the President of a number of projects including solar energy his country has been undertaking in the province of Bamyan.

The President wished the new ambassador success in his new assignment and good stay in Afghanistan
