Government Committed To Protect Civilians, Statement

Kabul (BNA) The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan has studied recent report released by UNAMA office related to civilian casualties in Afghanistan, considering the following points as necessary:
The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan is also assessing modality of protection the life of civilians through relevant organs and concerning over increasing civilian casualties in particular children.
UNAMA report has proved that the people of Afghanistan including women and children are the real victims of war imposed on us.
The report also proves that the main reason behind harming the civilians is mostly Taliban and other terrorist groups.
Taliban and all other terrorist groups are repeatedly and unconditionally targeting civilians and clearly violating international humanitarian laws and committing war crimes against humanity; for example: the most recent crimes of the terrorist groups were Batticot incident of Nangarhar and Dehmazang of Kabul.
The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan is abiding by its all responsibilities mentioned in the country’s constitution and international humanitarian laws in connection with protection of civilians and has made committed the country’s security and defense forces for maintaining the laws.
The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan has seriously instructed all security and defense forces to place protection of civilians as their working priorities in accordance with national and international laws.
The country’s President said yesterday that the history and people of Afghanistan would never forget crimes of the terrorist groups and their commitment was to arrest perpetrators of such crimes and maintain justice.
Unfortunately, a part of civilian casualties was followed that Taliban and all other terrorist groups are using civilians and residential areas as human shield against the country’s security and defense forces, but despite of these the government of Afghanistan is committed to overall investigation the civilian casualties caused by negligence of security and defense forces.
Beside regulations and laws ruled on works of the country’s security and defense forces and safety of the people’s life, the government of Afghanistan has finalized a policy for protection of civilians and will be soon approved as suggested by UNAMA in its report.
