TALIQAN CITY (BNA) Afghan security forces succeeded to retake Yangi Qala district, northern Takhar province from Taliban group late yesterday.
Jawad Hejri spokesman of Takhar governor told BNA reporter, Yangi Qala district captured by Taliban fighters four days ago that Afghan security forces by launching a military operation succeeded to recapture the district yesterday.
Over 36 fighters of Taliban group including their six top commander were killed and dozens others were wounded during the military operation, Hejri added.
I has been said, now security situation is better in Yangi Qala district and families are returning to their houses.
