Fighting Corruption Requires Particular Programs: Massoud

Kabul (BNA) The special envoy of president on reforms and good governance, Ahmad Zia Massoud said yesterday that fighting corruption and overcoming the menace requires special program, BNA reported.
After receiving the reports of the head of the counter-corruption body and directors of the branches of the entity here in a meeting, Masoud pointed out that the counter-corruption body as a responsible organ should have comprehensive strategy to eliminate the evil of corruption from society. After presenting his report on the situation of fighting corruption, acting chief of the counter-corruption body counting the problems of the entity and said that shrinking the administrative charter and budget shortage and lack of authority are the main challenges that the counter-corruption body has been facing since the very days of the national unity government. Previously, the counter-corruption body had monitored the work of ministries and registered the assets of government officials, the acting chief of the counter-corruption body said. He also added that the registration process of the assets of government officials is continuing and would be released next week. Acting chief of the counter-corruption body also proposed revision on the strategy, policy and authorities of the counter-corruption body to bolster the war on corruption.
